1. Definitions

For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions, the following definitions apply:

  • "caradins," "we," "us," or "our" refers to caradins, a luxury car rental service operating in Singapore
  • "Client," "you," or "your" refers to the individual or entity entering into a rental agreement with caradins
  • "Services" refers to all car rental arrangements, chauffeur services, and related offerings provided by caradins
  • "Vehicle" refers to any automobile provided by caradins under a rental agreement
  • "Agreement" refers to the rental contract formed between caradins and the Client, incorporating these Terms and Conditions
  • "Rental Period" refers to the duration from vehicle pickup to return as specified in the rental agreement

2. Acceptance of Terms

By reserving, accessing, or using caradins's services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use our services.

To enter into a rental agreement with caradins, you must:

  • Be at least 25 years of age
  • Hold a valid driver's license for a minimum of two years
  • Possess legal capacity to enter into binding contracts under Singapore law
  • Provide accurate and complete information during the reservation process

3. Service Description

caradins provides luxury car rental services in Singapore, including:

  • Self-drive vehicle rental arrangements (Compass Point — Day Drive and Expedition — Weekly Journey)
  • Chauffeur-driven services (Meridian — Chauffeur Day Service)
  • Concierge support for travel planning and logistics
  • Vehicle maintenance, insurance, and roadside assistance

Service availability is subject to vehicle inventory and scheduling constraints. caradins reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of our services at any time with reasonable notice.

4. Reservation and Booking

4.1 Reservation Process: Reservations may be made by phone, email, or through our website contact form. A reservation is considered confirmed once you receive written confirmation from caradins including pickup details and payment instructions.

4.2 Advance Notice: We recommend booking at least 24 hours in advance for day rentals and 72 hours for weekly rentals or chauffeur services. Last-minute reservations are accommodated subject to availability.

4.3 Vehicle Selection: While we make every effort to provide your selected vehicle, caradins reserves the right to substitute a vehicle of equal or greater value if the requested vehicle becomes unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances.

4.4 Modification Requests: Changes to reservations (dates, vehicle type, service level) may be requested up to 48 hours before the scheduled pickup time without penalty. Modifications within 48 hours are subject to availability and may incur a modest adjustment fee.

5. Payment Terms

5.1 Pricing: Service prices are quoted in Singapore Dollars (SGD) and are subject to change. The price confirmed in your reservation email is the price you will pay, regardless of subsequent price adjustments.

5.2 Payment Methods: We accept payment via bank transfer, credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express), or corporate account for established clients. Full payment is required before vehicle handover unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing.

5.3 Security Deposit: A refundable security deposit is collected at vehicle pickup. The deposit amount varies by vehicle type and is fully refundable upon return of the vehicle in satisfactory condition. Deductions may be made for damage, excessive cleaning requirements, or traffic violations incurred during the rental period.

5.4 Additional Charges: You may incur additional charges for:

  • Mileage exceeding included allowances
  • Late return beyond agreed grace period
  • Fuel charges if vehicle is not returned with agreed fuel level
  • Traffic violations, parking fines, or toll charges
  • Damage or loss not covered by insurance
  • Cleaning fees for excessive soiling

5.5 Refund Policy: Cancellations made more than 48 hours before pickup receive a full refund minus administrative processing fees. Cancellations within 48 hours forfeit 50% of the rental fee. No-shows forfeit the full rental fee.

6. User Responsibilities

6.1 Driver Requirements: All drivers must:

  • Be listed on the rental agreement as authorized drivers
  • Hold a valid driver's license recognized in Singapore
  • Present original identification documents at vehicle handover
  • Comply with all Singapore traffic laws and regulations

6.2 Prohibited Uses: Vehicles may not be used for:

  • Racing, competition, or performance testing
  • Commercial transport or delivery services
  • Towing or pushing other vehicles
  • Off-road driving or unpaved surfaces
  • Illegal activities of any kind
  • Transport of hazardous materials
  • Subletting or unauthorized third-party use

6.3 Vehicle Care: You are responsible for:

  • Operating the vehicle in a safe and lawful manner
  • Maintaining appropriate fuel levels
  • Securing the vehicle when unattended
  • Reporting any damage or mechanical issues immediately
  • Returning the vehicle in the same condition as received, allowing for normal wear

6.4 Smoking and Pets: Smoking and pets are prohibited in all vehicles unless specifically arranged in advance for vehicles designated for such use.

7. Insurance and Liability

7.1 Included Coverage: All rental arrangements include comprehensive insurance covering collision damage, third-party liability, and personal accident protection as required by Singapore law. Policy details are provided during the reservation process.

7.2 Standard Deductible: A standard deductible applies to damage claims. The deductible amount varies by vehicle type and is specified in your rental agreement.

7.3 Enhanced Coverage: Optional enhanced coverage is available to reduce or eliminate the standard deductible. This option must be selected at time of reservation.

7.4 Coverage Exclusions: Insurance does not cover:

  • Damage resulting from prohibited uses
  • Loss of personal belongings left in the vehicle
  • Mechanical breakdown due to negligence or misuse
  • Damage to tires, wheels, or undercarriage from improper use
  • Loss or damage when driver is under influence of alcohol or drugs

7.5 Incident Reporting: Any accident, damage, or theft must be reported to caradins and relevant authorities immediately. Failure to report incidents promptly may result in denial of insurance coverage.

8. Disclaimers

8.1 Service "As Is": Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While we maintain vehicles to high standards, we make no warranties regarding uninterrupted or error-free service.

8.2 No Guarantee of Results: We do not guarantee that our services will meet specific expectations or achieve particular outcomes. Client satisfaction depends on various factors beyond our control.

8.3 Professional Advice: Information provided by caradins staff is for general guidance only and does not constitute professional legal, financial, or travel advice. Clients should consult appropriate professionals for specific advice.

9. Limitation of Liability

9.1 Liability Cap: To the maximum extent permitted by Singapore law, caradins's total liability for any claims arising from or related to your use of our services shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the specific rental arrangement giving rise to the claim.

9.2 Excluded Damages: caradins shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, business interruption, or loss of data, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

9.3 Force Majeure: caradins is not liable for delays or failures in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, government actions, strikes, pandemics, or mechanical failures.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless caradins, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of our services, violation of these Terms and Conditions, violation of any law or regulation, or infringement of any third-party rights.

11. Termination

11.1 Client Termination: You may terminate a rental agreement by returning the vehicle before the scheduled return time. Early returns do not entitle you to a refund unless specifically agreed in writing.

11.2 caradins Termination: We reserve the right to terminate a rental agreement and demand immediate return of the vehicle if:

  • You violate any terms of the agreement
  • The vehicle is used for prohibited purposes
  • Payment is not received as agreed
  • You provide false or misleading information
  • The vehicle's safety or condition is compromised

11.3 Effects of Termination: Upon termination, all outstanding payments become immediately due, and you must return the vehicle and all provided items to caradins's location within 24 hours.

12. Dispute Resolution

12.1 Governing Law: These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore, without regard to conflict of law principles.

12.2 Jurisdiction: Any disputes arising from these Terms and Conditions or your use of caradins's services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.

12.3 Informal Resolution: Before initiating formal legal proceedings, parties agree to attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith negotiation. Contact us at [email protected] to initiate the resolution process.

13. General Provisions

13.1 Entire Agreement: These Terms and Conditions, together with your rental agreement and our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and caradins regarding use of our services.

13.2 Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

13.3 Waiver: Failure by caradins to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.

13.4 Assignment: You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms without our prior written consent. caradins may assign or transfer its rights and obligations without restriction.

13.5 Notice: All notices under these Terms must be in writing and delivered by email to the addresses specified in your rental agreement or to [email protected].

14. Changes to Terms

caradins reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes become effective upon posting to our website. Material changes will be communicated to active clients via email. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified terms. For reservations made before term changes, the terms in effect at time of reservation apply.
